Born in 2000 in Urayasu, Japan, Shin Aoyama grew upsurrounded by the music his grandmother loved — Enka (Japanese ballads) and Kayōkyoku (Japanese popular songs). After participating in a karaoke competition in junior high, he became a student of composer Hideo Mizumori.

In 2020, Shin debuted with the song "Shikatanai no sa" (It Can't Be Helped) as an artist commemorating the 85th anniversary of TEICHIKU ENTERTAINMENT and the 60th anniversary of GEIEI. This year, his song "Migatte na Onna" (Selfish Woman) reached No. 1 on the Oricon Enka/Kayōkyoku Chart— a first in his career.

A rising star and one of the brightest hopes of the new-generation Enka scene, Shin is on a roll, having sold out solo concerts at the Urayasu City Cultural Hall Main Hall (January), Asakusa Public Hall (July), and Nagoya Chunichi Hall (September).
